Which operating systems are supported by Qbox? [-]
Qbox will work on Desktops, Laptops or Tablets running any version of the Windows operating system including Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows servers. It will also work on virtual environments including virtual desktops and Terminal servers.
I tried to run the setup.exe file, but get an error during installation. [+]
Any of the following situations can cause an error during installation. Please try the installation again after fixing the issue:
- You may not have the latest updates on Windows. Please make sure that you have the updates using Windows Control Panel.
- Firewall on your computer is not updated or is blocking the installation. Try disabling the firewall for a few minutes.
- Windows Internet security options may not be set correctly: go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced tab, click on 'Restore Advanced Settings' and click Apply and then OK.
Prompt for lock keeps appearing even when I am not in the QuickBooks file. What can I do? [+]
You probably have Intuit Sync Manager running with sync mode set to automatic - change its sync mode to manual. To sync with any online applications, first open the QuickBooks company file, acquire file lock, and then sync the Intuit Sync Manager manually.
I closed the file, but the file did not sync. [+]
There can be a few reasons:
- If your Sync mode is set to Manual, you need to click the 'Sync Now' button to initiate sync.
- The file could be still open by a Windows process. You can use the Windows task manager to end the process or restart your computer.
- If the file is located on a server, it could be open by a process running on the server. In this case, the server may have to be restarted to close and sync the file.
I get a QuickBooks error when I opened the file from Qbox Explorer? [+]
Please note that Qbox will not cause a QuickBooks error. You can look up the error and the solution at the Intuit support website. For your convenience, we have listed some of the more common QuickBooks errors and a quick way to fix them:
QuickBooks error code: 8007xxxxx
Open the Company file from QuickBooks, instead of opening from the Qbox Explorer: start QuickBooks application, go to the 'File' menu, 'Open Company', navigate to the Qbox Sync folder and open the file. You should get a prompt for lock even when you open the file from QuickBooks. This needs to be done once, going forward you can continue to open the file from Qbox Explorer.
QuickBooks error code: 6000, 77
This error may occur if the Company file is located on a network drive. To confirm, copy the Company file to a different location and open it in QuickBooks. If it opens without error, you can relocate Qbox folders to this location by selecting 'Preferences' on the Qbox Explorer, and 'Move Qbox location'.
If you have Windows running on a Mac with Parallels, select the 'Isolate Windows from Mac' option under the Parallels configuration, and locate Qbox in the Documents folder to resolve the error.
QuickBooks stops working while trying to open a file
This may be because QuickBooks access to the Company file is not reliable. The issue could be due to unreliable network, network drive, or Windows running on a virtual environment. You can try relocating the Qbox folders by selecting 'Preferences' on the Qbox Explorer, and 'Move Qbox location' to resolve the issue.
How do I reinstall my Qbox client? [+]
First make sure that your Qbox client is not installed. If installed, you can uninstall it using the Windows Control Panel. Then login to your account at the Qbox website https://qbox.coraltreetech.com. Go to the Admin page, select 'Download Qbox Client' to download and install the client again.
I forgot my password and cannot sign into Qbox [+]
You can reset your password by clicking the 'Forgot Your Password?' link that appears when you click 'Sign In' at the Qbox website https://qbox.coraltreetech.com. Qbox will email you a temporary password. Sign back in with the temporary password and select a new password. Please note that your Qbox client will restart and prompt you to login. Login with your new password.
I deleted my Sync Folder. Why is this included in my bill? [+]
Regular Sync Folders and Custom Sync Folders for which sync is active on the billing date, are included in the bill. If you deleted the folder after the billing date, it will be excluded only from the next bill.
How do I setup automatic payments? [+]
Sign into your account at the Qbox website https://qbox.coraltreetech.com, go to the Admin page and click on Billing and Payments. Click on 'Edit' for Auto payment and provide your credit card details.
